Santa Clara Game Summary

The Broncos defeated the Cal Bears 16-6 for their season opener on Bellomy Field. Santa Clara was well represented with 8 different players putting up goals for the 10 goal differential. Maggie Burke and Kathleen Dermody both had 4 goals each. Maria Pestana, had 4 assists and a goal herself. The new members of the Bronco family were led by freshman Midfielder, Dana Kilsby, who contributed a hat trick to her first game as a Bronco, and freshman Goalie, Jenna Herzog, who added the first 9 saves to her career record. Overall, it was great first game on a sunny Santa Clara day. Thanks to all the fans who came out to support the team! Go Broncos!
